Aim of the programmer
Kalvi believes that, secondary and higher secondary education
itself is not sufficient to earn a sustainable and dependable livelihood. The
scenario prevailing now is that, youth of deprived community are most likely
left their education with secondary and higher secondary and going for some
unskilled or any labour work at lower wages, further their income will be
irregular. Vocational education programmer of Kalvi Trust helps in enhancing
young people’s access to market driven vocational skills. This initiative aims
to achieve decent employment opportunity youth living in poor families of urban
slums and rural areas. It ensures that all the new entrants to the work force
are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed for high productivity and
high quality jobs.
Programmer overview
Kalvi Trust’s programme of vocational training is an
initiative where youth people’s from disadvantaged and underprivileged rural
and urban communities are being offered with market driven job oriented
vocational trainings. The programme is targeted in the age group of 18 to 30
years of underprivileged girls and boys of working locations. The job oriented
vocational training courses are in various areas such as information technology
related various courses in different sectors, spoken English, beautician and
hair dressing, etc., according to the current demand in the market. Kalvi Trust
offered courses were provided by quality and well equipped trainers and quality
infrastructure also ensured. Further Kalvi also has its network with various
corporate institutions which helps in conducting recruitment drives to get job
opportunities for the beneficiaries.
Impact created
Unskilled and under employed youths were organised and
trained with needed and appropriate skill trainings and they are also
facilitated with placements through Kalvi consultancy services and kalvi groups
network institutions.
Further financial assistance was also arranged for students
to facilitate starting the business activity.
